General Assemblies
The General Assembly (GA) is the highest decision-making body within the European Deaf Students' Union (EDSU), consisting of all Full Members. Meeting annually, the GA serves as a platform for discussing and approving the board’s reports and plans, ensuring that the direction of EDSU aligns with the needs and aspirations of its members. Every second year, these meetings are held in different locations across Europe. The Full Members have the authority to empower the board to manage EDSU's day-to-day operations and to endorse long-term strategies, such as the Strategic Plan 2015-2017. Typically, the GA is complemented by seminars or small conferences that enable deeper discussions on key topics.
Our seminars play a vital role in connecting smaller groups for ongoing discussions focused on specific themes. Participants are encouraged to engage actively, often through dialogues with a seminar leader or more formal research presentations. The first EDSU Seminar took place from October 8th to 11th, 2015, in Bilbao, Spain, under the title "Breaking the Higher Education Wall".
